GRAVHOUNDS is scheduled to enter Early Access on PC and Xbox Game Preview on November 2, 2026. If you played the demo, Octopus Panic says that progress will not transfer into Early Access. Plan for a fresh start with your pack.
A launch into development
This is the beginning of public Early Access, not an announcement that development is finished. Steam identifies GRAVHOUNDS as a work in progress, while Xbox lists the console version as Game Preview. The November 2 date is a plan, not evidence that servers are already open. Neither source checked here gives a precise unlock time. A group arranging its first session should check the live store before committing to an evening.

Build, defend, then get out
The one-to-four-player structure combines base building with expeditions to hostile planets. Your group gathers resources, builds defenses and tries to extract its haul as the danger increases. That puts the decision to leave alongside the decision to keep fighting. The useful question for a regular co-op group is whether everyone wants that shared building-and-extraction loop, rather than another mission shooter with a different cast.
The demo was a rehearsal
The developer explicitly separated demo progression from the November release in its October 7 announcement. That applies to progress, not to what players learned about construction or coordinating an expedition. The announcement also described a Mod Deck Builder that limits reward-pod draws to a chosen set of unlocked mods. Those are demo-era details; the launch build needs its own patch-note check before they become a definitive progression guide.
What to check before joining the pack
Xbox lists Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere, and the developer announced day-one Game Pass availability. Check your own subscription and storefront entitlement; those labels alone do not establish a cross-play promise between every PC and console version. The official co-op trailer uses September playtest footage, so it can illustrate the group dynamic without proving launch performance. Start with the launch listing and the current build notes. This is a source-based news preview, not a tested recommendation.
