Final Fantasy VII Revelation: Release Date and Editions

Final Fantasy VII Revelation launches on April 8, 2027, replacing the earlier Spring 2027 window. Square Enix confirms PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. It is the concluding entry in the remake trilogy. Square Enix’s September 3 announcement

The practical choice is now which version fits your platform and what you want to own. A digital Premium edition and a physical Deluxe edition are different packages. Do not treat the names as interchangeable or assume a boxed edition includes early access.

Release date and platforms

For a returning player, the useful checklist is platform, storefront, existing ownership, and physical-versus-digital preference. The platform announcement alone does not establish cross-save, cross-buy, or identical performance. This guide makes no such promises.

Digital editions: what changes

Square Enix’s US buying guide lists four digital choices:

• Standard: Revelation base game.
• Premium: Base game, Story Expansion Pass, and 24-hour early access.
• Premium Plus: Premium content plus digital art, mini soundtrack, and additional in-game items.
• Trilogy: Remake Intergrade, Rebirth, and Revelation.

If you only want the main game, start with Standard. Premium asks you to commit to future content; Premium Plus adds extras whose value depends on whether you want them. Check what you already own before choosing Trilogy, and compare the bundle price with standalone Revelation before paying for duplicate ownership.

Physical editions and download requirements

The North American Square Enix store offers Day One, Deluxe, and Collector’s options. Day One includes a promotional Magic: The Gathering card. Deluxe adds an artbook, soundtrack, and Steelbook. Collector’s adds a Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth statue and a larger digital-content bundle, including the expansion pass. Physical does not necessarily mean the complete game is on the card or disc. Square Enix’s UK listing describes Switch 2 as a Game-Key Card requiring a download and at least 130 GB of available storage. Do that check before buying storage. A capacity figure for one version is not a final install-size specification for every platform.

Preorder bonuses and early access

The US digital buying page lists Mecha-Chocobo & Moogle summoning materia as its preorder bonus. The UK physical store lists Sylph instead. Match the bonus to the exact store, format, and region you are buying; there is no single universal bonus bundle. US digital terms · UK physical terms

Nintendo’s US Premium listing specifies early access beginning April 6 at 9 p.m. Pacific, ahead of the standard release. Use your own storefront’s countdown for the applicable unlock time. What is confirmed about the adventure?

Nintendo’s description confirms travel using the Highwind, a broad interconnected world, and a fully assembled party. Those are feature descriptions, not evidence that the finished game runs smoothly or that every expected location is present. This fact file keeps plot interpretation and ending theories out. What still needs another official update?

The reviewed sources do not establish a demo date, a full platform-by-platform performance comparison, or final PC hardware requirements. Check the selected store again before spending money or planning time off.
