Our take
The Strix G15 is the desk-first counterpart to the Zephyrus: thicker, heavier, and better at holding clock speeds for an hour rather than for a benchmark run. If you are choosing between the two ASUS 15-inch lines, the honest test is whether the machine moves. If it does not, buy the Strix.
The compromises are the ones you would expect — it is louder, less pleasant to carry, and the design is unambiguously a gaming laptop.
